"(a)normalizações"

“During my journey of artistic expression through collage, I recently participated in an exhibition titled (A)NORMALIZAÇÕES. This exhibition was unique as it was the first time that the title was presented in Portuguese. The title can be roughly translated into English as "ABNORMALISATIONS". Through this exhibition, I showcased a collection of collages that explored the concept of normalizing abnormalities. My aim was to challenge the traditional notions of normality and encourage the audience to contemplate how we perceive the world around us.

The collages that I presented at the exhibition varied in nature. Some of them were critical in nature, highlighting the issues that arise from normalizing abnormalities, while others were more reflective and acted as a form of self-therapy for me. As an artist, it was a joy to have the opportunity to share my work with others and an honor to see people contemplating my creations. I believe that art is meant to be seen and appreciated, and I am grateful for the chance to bring my creations to life and share them with the world”.
